Living the Life You Are Meant to Live

Come with me on a journey! A journey to October 20, 2023

I sit in my Dodeka lounge chair with heated seats on my deck and look to the east. I see a beautiful azure sky, not a cloud in sight and several peaks of the Rocky Mountains. The air is a little crisp but I have on my favourite golden yellow wool sweater and black Merino wool pants. I cross my legs keeping my feet warm with black Anfibio Kanda boots. All the clothes we have are made here in Canada, all our furniture and everything that matters are made in Canada too.

I set my book down on the side table and take up the mug of tea which I cradle with two hands.

The autumn trees are at their peak showing off their respective deep burgundy reds, regal magentas, titanium yellows, and fire and carrot oranges interspersed with precocious coniferous greens. The cobalt water of the lake below shimmers in silver waves as the wind sweeps across its surface.

A chipmunk darts across the edge of the deck sporting puffy nuts and seed filled cheeks as a downy woodpecker hammers away on a pine tree.

I take a deep breath and take a sip from my mug of Earl Grey tea sweetened with just a splash of maple syrup.

Our housekeeper/cook is preparing lunch; a mixed green lettuce salad topped with split cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, black beans, fresh roasted corn kernels and a sprinkling of curried quinoa. The smell is amazing, especially mixed with the wood smoke wafting from the fireplace!

Chris just called and is on his way home for lunch!

This is just a flash in time. This is the kind of moment I aspire to.

What you read above is only a snippet of a personal vision statement. It is a tool to help my clients really focus on what it is they want from life and who they need to be to get there. I read my client’s vision statement to them several times as they sit and imagine their ideal day after experiencing a perfect year. They take it home with them and read it to themselves hopefully every day and whenever they need to refocus.

Have you ever been looking for a new or new-to-you car, decide on the make and model you’d like only to suddenly see them everywhere! They seem to have appeared out of nowhere; at least you’ve never noticed that many of them before.

A vision statement helps you to focus on the priorities it takes to make that perfect day/week/month/year a reality. It helps you to work towards and hopefully achieve the life you are meant to live.

If you’d like to experience the making of your vision statement, feel free to set up a zoom call with me (the first call is free) here:
